wheel universal and unique
wheel universal and unique
many principles of beauty are structured in the conception of wheel,
the basic is circle
long before man invented the wheel, circle exists, circular motion exists,
it has a point at center
a point on a plane paper, in a empty space, is a basic unit of beauty,
infinity manifesting as a point , a finite point , within itself , on itself
it has a line, the point repeating, multiplying and stopping becomes a line, a radius,
the point repeating in reverse, results in a diameter
the point rotates about itself , the point repeating, multiplying and stopping becomes many lines, radii,
the point repeating in reverse, results in a diameter
the point rotates about itself , the point repeating, multiplying and stopping becomes many lines, radii,
Points end on the circumference being equidistant
End Points take a turn, it is now a circle
From basic , the point, a line, a circle, a square, a triangle, a rhombus, a pentagon , polygons all are infinite possibilities
and the sphere, the integrated form of circle, exists, rotation exists
nearest example is the earth,
symmetry , mirror, lengthwise width-wise, depth wise
so
the point is basic
line is the next
plane is crated by lines repeating
solid is created by planes repeating
wheel is one product of the beauty of circle, circle is basic
also
if you take wheel as basic,
then we have the plethora of wheel forms –potters wheel, cart wheel, spinning wheel, bike wheel, gear wheel, belt wheel, car wheel, lorry wheel, bus wheel, aerooplane wheel, lathes, milling machines, diesel, petrol engines, water pump, fans, mixi, wash machine, countless specialties, from one universal the circle
and
if you take sphere as basic,
then we have again a plethora of sphericals—foot ball, ball bearing [ it is a combination of wheel and sphere.] balloon, moon, fruits, , even some trees,
eye balls,
from one unique many specialties are created
in every specialty, one unique is underlying
one unique manifesting as specialties
all specialties evolving as the basic one unique
as specialties grow in perfection, they reach the one unique in that proportion

Bhagavadgita: Qualities that are necassary to obtain Knowledge - Bhagavadgita
Comments of Swami Chinmayanda:
*
The qualities that are necessary for an individual to be assured of the
Knowledge-Divine are being enumerated here as vividly as from the leaf of a
Science text-book. Three great qualities have been indicated and to
understand them is to understand why the so-called seekers, in spite of
their claims to sincere self-application, do not actually reach anywhere
near the ladder of development. Faith, devotion, and self-control are the
three imperative necessities to be acquired ere we can hope to evolve to the
diviner stature from our present mortal encumbrances. But these three words
are more often misunderstood than rightly evaluated.

FAITH (Shraddha) --- Exploiters of religions have been making capital out of
repeating this word as their safest excuse for all problems spiritual, to
clear which devotees may approach these men who pose themselves as guides in
religion. Invariably, we find that the ordinary devotees are completely
rendered, sometimes fanatical and often poorer, in their intellectual and
mental growth, because of the unintelligent insistence of Shraddha translated
as "blind faith and unquestioned acceptance of any declaration said to be
divine."

Shankara tolls the death-knell of this misunderstanding when he explains
Shraddha as "that by which an individual readily understands the exact
import of the scriptural text as well as the pregnant words of advice of the
preceptor."

DEVOTED TO IT (Tatparah) --- Whatever be the 'path' of divine
self-development that he may be following, it is an unavoidable necessity
that the seeker must give his undivided attention to it, and must, on all
occasions, maintain in his mind a continuous consciousness of the Divine. A
mere intellectual study of the scriptures will not help us in purifying and
shaping our "within' to the glorious Beauty of the Divine. It is necessary
that we must pour out our mind and intellect into the scheme of living that

Sanskrit: An ancient language
Sanskrit: An ancient language

Topic: What should India expect from a young Parliament?
Greatness of Sanskrit
It is reported that Sanskrit
Language is the mother of Latin,Roman and Arabic
languages.
Besides, it is also stated that in Sanskrit language, more than 10,000 WORDS OF RUSSIAN
LANGUAGE are also found.
The most important cause for the continuity of Indian culture throughout the country is undoubtedly Sanskrit. All languages of India with perhaps the exception of Tamil consider Sanskrit as the mother. The world’s most ancient language was used in early Vedic literature about 5000 years back.
Panini’s “ASHTAADHYAAYI”, the most ancient grammar helped to initiate writing. Great epics-Mahabharata and Ramayana-were authored later. Valmiki is considered as the first poet of the world. Aswaghosha’s BUDDHACHARITHA AND SOUNDARANANDA were later works. Kalidasa’s KUMARASAMBHAVA, RAGHUVAMSHA, ABHIGNANA SHAAKUNTALA etc., written somewhere near 5th century. Bhaaravi’s KIRAATHARJUNEEYA was written in about 6th century.
Varieties in Sanskrit literature extends from dramas of Bhaasa (Prtigna Yougharayana, SwapnaVasavadatta etc), Kalidasa, Shoodraka(Mrichchikatika), Vishakadatta(Mudraraakshasa), Bhavabhooti(Mahaveeracharitha, Uttara Ramacharitha, Malathi madhava), Harsha(Ratnavali, Priyadarshika, Nagananda), Mahendra Vikrama(Mattavilasa) etc.,
Vishnu Sharma’s PANCHATANTRA started the art of story telling. Baana’s KADAMBARI started the novel writing. Goddala’s ‘UDAYA SUNDARI’ started the love stories., also called Champoo kavya. Bhojaraja’s SHRINGARA MANJARI is a novel where different types of love are explained. Somadeva’s KATHA SARITHSAGARA is a treasure of stories. Kshemendra’s ‘KALAVILASA’, DARPADALANA, DESHOPADESHA etc., are works of satire dealing with corruption, and other evil practices.
Patanjali’s MAHABHASHYA started the analytical writing. Aryabhata and Bhaskaracharya wrote of mathematics and astronomy. Charaka and sushrutha wrote of medicine. Koutilya on politics and administration.
Bharathamuni’s NATYASHASTRA started the art of criticisism. Bhamaha, Dandin, Vemana, Rudratha, Anandavardhana, Kuntaka, Udhbuta, Lollata, Dhananjaya and others including Raja Bhoja were famous critics of the time.
DOWNFALL
The downfall started with foreign aggression from about 1200 AD. Even then there were some efforts to further the literature. Amarachandra, Someswara, Balachandra, Vastupala, Princess Ganga, Ahobila, Dindima, Gopala, Manadeva, Neelakanta, Venkataadhvari and others were the famous writers of the time. These efforts continued even during the British period.
Even now Sanskrit is providing a storehouse for the words required to write scientific and technical books. This has come to the personal experience of this author.
WHY IMPORTANCE OF SANSKRIT?
There are four reasons.
1. The accuracy of grammar, beauty of the expressions and the sound of Sanskrit is not found in any other language of the world. It provides the basis for all other Indian languages like what Greek and Latin are for the western languages.
2. Indian culture rests on Sanskrit. Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana, Yoga sutras are all in Sanskrit. It is these that have bonded India together.
3. Sanskrit is rich in literature by poets like Kalidasa, Bharavi, Banabhatta, bhartrhari etc., It is not that it deals only with spiritual matters. It caters to all needs of all people including finance, politics, law, mental health, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, engineering and many others.
4. It provides values applicable to the whole humanity. It not only provides a hope for the individual that he can rise to the level of the divine and through that concept, one can identify with every one else and thus helps in developing brotherhood in the whole world.
SPECIALITY OF SANSKRIT
expressions of vowels and consonants.
Consonants have no independent expression without the vowels. This system is not seen in other languages. (Example: - FRY, DRY. In come and coma, “co” has different expressions. TOP, MOP, JUM, CHUM – here, O AND U have expression like “a”.) Such anomalies are not found in Sanskrit.
2. From the MOOLA DHATHU, it is possible to create a number of words in Sanskrit. There has been no change in either the words or their meanings from times immemorial.
3. There has been no change in the rules of grammar and hence the same type of poetical works is there irrespective of when the works were created.
4. There is a speciality in the literature connected to Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas. Although there is a difference in the style in these works, there is no difference in the words used.
SHOULD WE NOT PROTECT SUCH A BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE LANGUAGE WHICH IS OUR PROUD HERITAGE?

The Koshas: 5 Layers of Being
Experiencing Your Five Sheaths
The five sheaths are not theoretical constructs. They are real parts of your being that you can actually experience. The following eight-step exercise will help you get a fuller sense of these inner dimensions of your personality.
- Sit comfortably with your head, neck, and trunk in a straight line. Sit upright without straining. You’ll feel both alert and relaxed.
- Close your eyes, withdrawing your awareness from the sights and sounds around you. Bring your full attention to your physical body. Be aware of your head and shoulders, chest and waist, back and abdomen, arms and legs. This is your annamaya kosha.
- Bring your full attention to the point between your nostrils and feel yourself breathe. Gradually your breath will flow more slowly, smoothly, and quietly. Be aware of the energy pulsing through your body. It’s making your heart beat, your lungs expand and contract, the blood course through your veins, your stomach gurgle. The force orchestrating this movement—not your physical body itself—is your prana-maya kosha.
- Shift your awareness into your brain. Pay attention to the part of your awareness that’s regulating your sensory input and motor output. This is the part of you that notices your nose is itching and orders your hand to scratch it. It notes that you’re uncomfortable sitting in one position for so long and wants you to move your legs. It generates the reflexive mental chatter that continually fires through your mind. This is your manomaya kosha.
- Lift your awareness higher inside your skull. Sense the part of your awareness that consciously made the decision to participate in this exercise and right now is commanding you to sit still and complete it. It recognizes the value of expanding your self-awareness and compels you to get up early in the morning to do your hatha postures and meditation, even though lazing in bed might be more pleasant. This is your vijnanamaya kosha.
- Center your awareness in your heart. Relax deeply; keep breathing smoothly and evenly. Now, taking as much time as you need, allow yourself to settle into a state of complete tranquility. Buried deep in that inner peace is a sense of purest happiness. This is not an emotional euphoria, though as you leave this state it may pour out of you as a sense of great joy and gratitude. It is a space of perfect contentment, perfect attunement, and abiding stillness. There is no sense of lack, or fear, or desire. This is your anandamaya kosha.
- Now simply be aware of your own awareness. The pure consciousness that is having this experience lies beyond this experience. It is your true inner Self, your immortal being. Rest in your own being for as long as you can hold your attention there.
- Return your attention to your breath. Breathe slowly, smoothly, and evenly. Open your eyes. Take a moment to relax and absorb this experience before you get up.
